The title I chose was 'Rape Fantasies' by Margaret Atwood. It captivated me because the title sounded intriguing and Atwood is a fantastic author. It seems like it would have great symbols and amazing themes/memos about life.

What do you all think of the short story by Gaius Petronius "The Widow of Ephesus". I find this story should be interesting because it takes place on a ship called the Lichas, which is a cook name for one, and the story is of a Roman author which could give us some insight of their history and culture. (And cause I like Greek/Roman literature)

I picked Everyday Use by Alice Walker because the title and the overall feel of the story has a warmth that seems to draw me in. Also right before the story starts it says, "for your grandmama" which is really sweet.

I picked "Barn Burning" because it looked interesting to me. From what I read, it seems to be about a boy who's father is on trial for burning another man's barn

I chose The Widow of Ephesus because it was written during the Roman Empire under Nero, likely giving it an interesting insight into that time period.

The Lottery because I feel like I would be able to relate to the book because it's about a small town and we also live in a small town.
